Protests are Working! Major Bank Considers Pulling Funds from DAPL if Violations Continue

https://i0.wp.com/www.activistpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/nodapl.jpgWhile election madness reached full tilt in recent days, opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline experienced a quiet victory — Norway’s largest bank, DNB, will consider pulling its hefty investment in the project if concerns from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe are not addressed.

DNB, EcoWatch reports, has reportedly loaned around $350 million to Energy Transfer Partners for the construction of the pipeline — fully 10 percent of the total cost — but is worried the rights of Native Americans are being trampled in the process.

“DNB looks with worry at how the situation around the pipeline in North Dakota has developed,” the financier said in a statement cited by Reuters. “The bank will therefore take initiative and use its position to bring about a more constructive process to find a solution to the conflict.

If these initiatives do not give appeasing answers and results, DNB will consider its further involvement in the financing of the project.

Apprehension over solicitous violence police have employed against the Standing Rock Sioux water protectors and their supporters drove the bank to review its investment in the enormously controversial pipeline. Multiple clashes between law enforcement and peaceful opposition finally began leading international headlines after American corporate media largely ignored escalating tensions.

Standing Rock Sioux Tribe members — and Indigenous peoples from First Nations around the planet, as well as activists and supporters — have occupied several camps along the Missouri River near Cannon Ball, North Dakota, since spring in an attempt to obstruct further construction of Dakota Access.

In bold response, ETP hired private security mercenaries untrained in such matters, who unleashed vicious dogs indiscriminately against a crowd of unarmed but angry water protectors whose sole ‘crime’ constituted trespassing to perform a ceremonial prayer. At least six people were mauled by the dogs in the chaos, and several journalists and activists faced lengthy jail terms.

Soros gave Clinton step-by-step instructions on how to tackle Albania unrest – WikiLeaks email

U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton © Chris KeaneAn email leaked by WikiLeaks reveals that when Hillary Clinton was US secretary of state in 2011, billionaire George Soros instructed her on how to handle unrest in Albania, stressing it “needs urgent attention at senior levels of the US government.”

“Dear Hillary,” begins the email dated January 24, 2011 from the founder of Open Society Foundations, Soros.

“A serious situation has arisen in Albania which needs urgent attention at senior levels of the US government. You may know that an opposition demonstration in Tirana on Friday resulted in the deaths of three people and the destruction of property,” Soros says, according to the leaked email.

Three men were shot dead as anti-government demonstrators clashed with police in the Albanian capital in late January of 2011. Supporters of the opposition Socialist Party refused to accept the results of a 2009 election, citing corruption and fraud, when then-Prime Minister Sali Berisha’s Democratic Party won by a thin margin. Berisha accused the opposition of attempting to provoke a Tunisia-style uprising, saying “the bastard children of Albania’s own Ben Alis conceived Tunisian scenarios.”

“There are serious concerns about further unrest connected to a counter-demonstration to be organized by the governing party… and a follow-up event by the opposition two days later to memorialize the victims,” Soros says.

“The prospect of tens of thousands of people entering the streets in an already inflamed political environment bodes ill for the return of public order and the country’s fragile democratic process,” he adds.

“I believe two things need to be done urgently,” he adds.

“1. Bring the full weight of the international community to bear on Prime Minister Berisha and opposition leader Edi Rama to forestall further public demonstrations and to tone down public pronouncements.

2. Appoint a senior European official as a mediator.”

Soros suggested three candidates: Carl Bildt, Martti Ahtisaari, and Miroslav Lajcak, saying all “have strong connections to the Balkans.”

“The US and the EU must work in complete harmony over this, but given Albania’s European aspirations the EU must take the lead,” he stressed, adding that his foundation in Tirana was “monitoring the situation closely and can provide independent analysis of the crisis.”

Several days after the email was sent to Clinton, the EU did send one of Soros’ suggested nominees, Miroslav Lajcak, to meet Albanian leaders in Tirana to try to mediate an end to the unrest, Reuters reported.

Popular talk show host claims homeless people are being murdered for their organs

Homeless people(NaturalNews) It is a story that seems too horrific to be true, but a popular Alabama talk show host who is investigating it says there may be something to it: Homeless people are being victimized by a government agency that is removing them from city streets all over the country and depriving them of their organs.

In an interview with Dave Hodges of The Common Sense Show, Josh Coy, himself a host on WYDE, the largest station in Alabama covering a four-state region, said that the story begins with laws that are spreading around the country forbidding anyone from feeding homeless people.

Elected officials began implementing such local ordinances as a way to discourage the homeless from settling in their cities, which they feel would hurt business growth and upset residents. But it seems there is something more sinister going on.

Coy says that as he began looking into the story, he discovered that homeless people were “literally disappearing” overnight in some cities, as in, they were there one day, gone the next – and no one knew why or where the missing person had gone. But he said few others were asking questions about the strange disappearances because of what he says is a cultural bias against homeless people.

Is a government agency behind all of this?

Coy noted that most Americans seem to have a misconception about the homeless – that they are sans homes because they are drunks or substance abusers, which is one of the main reasons few questions were being asked when a homeless person vanished. But that’s not true, he said; the majority of homeless are veterans and others who simply got down on their luck due to job losses and the bad economy. That’s also why, he said, the numbers of homeless have been increasing.

“So that’s what led me down the path” to pursue the story, Coy said.

As he began investigating, the Alabama talk radio host says he discovered that literally thousands of people over the past five years or so had gone missing, but that the “story surrounding their disappearance(s) is the creepiest part.”

Coy said that as he dug, he began to find what he believes is a common denominator in the disappearances: The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA.

The agency, Coy said, has been working under the radar to set up random “soup kitchens” and other areas to feed homeless people, even when it contravenes local ordinances prohibiting such activity. The day after the feeding location is set up, strange unmarked vans show up with people wearing blue jumpsuits who talk with the homeless, and the next thing anyone knows, some of them go missing.

While Coy said the people were wearing unmarked jumpsuits, he said they were of a type that FEMA workers generally wear.

‘Hail Satan’: Alaskan council meeting opens with prayer to Lucifer (VIDEO)

@thesatanictempleThe mundanity of a local council meeting in Alaska was astonishingly broken when a decision to open up the forum to all religions resulted in a Satanist presenting the opening prayer – to Lucifer.

When the local government of Kenai Borough decided to welcome other faiths to their assemblies they probably didn’t envisage opening up their doors to the Lord of Darkness.

On Tuesday, Iris Fontana – reportedly a member of the Satanic Temple organization that views Satan as a symbol for rebellion and rational inquiry – gave the assembly invocation usually reserved for pastors.

Meeting attendees were reminded that they did not have to participate in the opening ritual.

Assembly members stood silently in a circle while Fontana asked them to “embrace the Luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of knowledge.” She then ended the surreal prayer with the words “Hail Satan.”

While traditional Satanism may invoke well-worn images of horned beasts, cloaked figures, and fiery underground lairs, the Satanic Temple is an atheist organization. Its website explains that it does not promote evil or the belief in supernatural beings.

“The Satanic Temple holds to the basic premise that undue suffering is bad, and that which reduces suffering is good. We do not believe in symbolic ‘evil.’ We embrace blasphemy as a legitimate expression of personal independence from counter-productive traditional norms,” it states.

Footage of the unorthodox assembly opening, which preceded a fairly humdrum meeting regarding a $138,000 paving project and changing a hospital boundary, has been posted on the Kenai Peninsula Borough website.

However, the excitement of a prayer to the supposedly God-banished angel has not gone down too well with some assembly members.

“I appreciate what the Assembly President’s doing with the prayer issue and trying to be fair, but I find it ironic that the prayer from the atheist wasn’t really about doing good and making good decisions,” assemblyman Dale Bagley told Radio Kenai.

He described the incident as “irritating” and questioned whether a local pastor would be allowed to make such a political statement.

Effective Immediately: Illinois Decriminalizes Marijuana Possession

By Brandon Turbeville

15012584336_d85bdae49b_cIllinois is now the most recent state to show signs that it is beginning to move in the direction of more sensible and responsible drug laws, particularly when it comes to marijuana.

This is because Governor Bruce Rauner signed legislation last week which makes Illinois the third largest state in the country to decriminalize minor marijuana offenses. The new law makes having 10 grams or less of marijuana a civil offense as opposed to a criminal one. Thus, the penalty for possession of over 10 grams will be a fine of up to 200 dollars.

The law also sets an official standard for what will be considered too impaired to drive. Previously, any trace amount of marijuana at all was considered impaired, an obviously oppressive and illogical standard since marijuana can remain in a person’s system for several weeks. The new law creates a standard of 5 nanograms of THC in the driver’s blood within two hours of consumption.

The governor had been expected to sign the bill despite the fact that he vetoed a similar piece of legislation last year. At the time of his veto, Rauner said that existing penalties for small marijuana offenses were too harsh and that “criminal prosecution of cannabis possession is also a drain on public resources.” We proudly welcome Governor Rauner to the 21st century.

But, not so fast…

Laimutis Nargelenas, Springfield Park Police Chief, and former lobbyist for the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, is very concerned. “You’re giving individuals more opportunities for drug usage,” said Nargelenas.

At this point, we would like to make a joke about welcoming Nargelenas to the 18th century, but, interestingly enough, the people of that century had more much more rational views on marijuana than he does. Instead, we will allow Nargelenas to remain in the Twilight Zone where marijuana is dangerous, Prozac is safe and police who are scarcely indistinguishable from the military is a sign that everything is okay.

Many others in the state have praised Rauner’s action, most likely tired of seeing non-violent people having their lives ruined, thrown into cages and otherwise being brutalized – not by the plant they were arrested for – but by the people who are allegedly protecting them from it.

The new Illinois bill will also require municipalities to purge citation records of marijuana possession every six months although it does allow local governments to opt out of this clause. The bill goes into effect immediately.

Small-Time Fishermen May Soon Be History Thanks to Nanny State Government

fishermen-800x520On Friday, the United States District Court in New Hampshire dismissed a lawsuit filed by New England fishermen accusing the federal government of overreach. The suit pertains to recent rules set by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which force fisherman to absorb the cost of on-board, at-sea monitors whose job is to ensure compliance with federal regulations.

Previously, the government has paid for these third-party observers, who accompany fishermen on trips and — in addition to making certain vessels adhere to catch quotas — are there as part of a NOAA program to monitor the overall health of fish populations.

But NOAA says its federal funding has run out and that the New England fishermen themselves must now foot the bill, which amounts to about $710 per voyage. And that’s a cost, according to Cause of Action — the government watchdog group that filed the legal action on behalf of the fishermen — that the industry simply cannot afford.

“It is unlawful for NOAA to force struggling fishermen to pay for their own at-sea monitors,” Alfred Lechner, Cause of Action’s president and CEO, recently told Fox News. “The significant cost of these regulations should be the responsibility of the government.”

The “struggling fishermen” who brought the lawsuit target groundfish such as cod and halibut. Those species’ numbers have been sharply declining in recent years, which has in turn prompted NOAA to enact increasingly tighter restrictions on catch quotas.

But many feel government intervention is only exacerbating the problem. The Salem News remarked in June that “The program is far from perfect. The regulations are at worst byzantine and contradictory, and at best merely confusing. The quality and experience of observers varies greatly, and extra people on the deck of a fishing vessel can add to safety concerns in what is already a dangerous profession.”

What’s more, NOAA readily acknowledges — via the agency’s own 2015 report — shifting the cost of at-sea monitors onto local fisherman will shutter nearly 60 percent of the groundfish industry in New England.

“Fishing is my passion and it’s how I’ve made a living, but right now, I’m extremely fearful that I won’t be able to do what I love and provide for my family if I’m forced to pay out-of-pocket for at-sea monitors,” David Goethel, the lead plaintiff, said when the suit was filed in December of last year. “I’m doing this not only to protect myself, but to stand up for others out there like me whose livelihoods are in serious jeopardy.”

Some argue that what’s happening in the Northeast is a typical case of Big Government versus the little guy. A 2014 article in Newsweek pointed out that New Englanders feel “the regulations will disproportionately hurt small, independent fishermen as opposed to larger corporations.”

This perceived bias — government regulating small business out of existence in favor of corporate operations — makes the situation all the more unjust for the fishermen, considering they feel NOAA has no right to govern their affairs in the first place.

The failed lawsuit alleged the government was “acting in excess of any statutory authority granted by Congress” and that it was “improperly infringing on Congress’ exclusive taxation authority.”

Creepy clown with black balloons wandering Wisconsin

08050359-sdsdsds13912646_1259627364049682_1492854501572386115_n.ab94b306.jpgWisconsin residents are calling police, asking about a disheveled clown walking through Green Bay with four black balloons.

But, there’s not much police can do. The clown doesn’t appear armed or dangerous — just really creepy.

“This person is not breaking the law,” said Captain Kevin Warych of the Green Bay Police Department. “He can walk in a clown costume anywhere he wants.”

The clown, who is being referred to as Gags – The Green Bay Clown, was first spotted at 2 a.m. Aug. 1, according to a fan Facebook page that popped up the next day.

Commenter Shannon Mueller said if she met Gags, she would “curl into the fetal position and die of heart exploding from pure terror.”

Photos of Gags show a figure with full face makeup – high eyebrows, hollow eyes and a black smile. The clown wears a soiled-looking jumpsuit with a ruffled collar.

Some believe Gags is part of a horror film, but others say they haven’t seen a camera crew.

Warych said he’s surprised that Gags has gone viral.

“At the end of the day, it’s just a person walking around in clown costume.”

Prominent AFP Clinton Researcher Victor Thorn Found Dead

Prominent AFP Clinton Researcher Victor Thorn Found Dead[Editor’s Note: Mr. Thorn appeared on a previous Red Ice show. While the circumstances surrounding his death are undeniably strange, it’s still too early to reach a definite conclusion as to whether or not his death was, in fact, a suicide.]

Prolific author, AMERICAN FREE PRESS writer and seasoned Clinton researcher Victor Thorn was found at the top of a mountain near his home, the apparent victim of a gunshot wound. Family and some close friends contend Thorn took his own life on his birthday, August 1. Thorn would have been 54.

At the peak of his writing career, the author of some 20 books and 30 chapbooks, Thorn had reported for this newspaper for over a decade, writing thousands of articles on myriad subjects from conspiracy to health-related topics. Best known for his investigate research on the Clintons, Thorn wrote the Clinton trilogy—three definitive works that delved into the history of the power couple including their sordid scandals, Bill Clinton’s sexual assaults of multiple women, and the drug running out of Mena, Arkansas while Clinton was governor of the state.

Besides writing for AFP, Thorn published the works of numerous writers in the alternative media such as Michael Collins Piper, Adam Gorightly, Mark Glenn, John Kaminski and Joan d’Arc, while also producing five CDs and DVDs, one of which is a five-disc collection that covers the John F. Kennedy assassination.

Thorn also served as the editor of five anthologies, and his political articles have appeared in various newspapers around the country.

In February 2001, Thorn founded Babel magazine, an online publication that ran until early 2004 and featured some of the first articles devoted to the 9-11 conspiracy.

One of his books, The New World Order Exposed, was translated and published in Japan in 2006, while 9-11 on Trial has been republished by Progressive Press, and was also released in France to coincide with the fifth anniversary of 9-11.

After co-hosting “The Victor Thorn Show” on the Reality Radio Network from 2002-2003, in February 2004, Thorn co-founded WING TV (World Independent News Group), a daily Internet television and radio talk show viewed in over 100 countries worldwide.

Thorn has also made hundreds of different radio appearances (including “Coast-to-Coast AM” and “The Lionel Show” on WOR 710 in New York City) and has done weekly one-hour news updates on Alex Merklinger’s “Mysteries of the Mind,” while also appearing weekly on Vyzygoth’s “From the Grassy Knoll” and Frank Whalen’s “Frankly Speaking Radio.”

Thorn has been an avid political activist who spoke at the OKC Bombing 10th anniversary, as well as before the America First Party.

He has also protested in six different states, not to mention at Ground Zero on several occasions and in front of the White House in Washington, D.C.

Some supporters have voiced concerns that yet another prominent critic of the Clintons has turned up dead—this time just after Hillary Clinton secured the Democratic nomination.

Mumps outbreak in Long Island likely caused by vaccine-resistant virus; majority of those affected were immunized

Mumps outbreak(NaturalNews) Long Beach has been hit with a mumps outbreak that is vaccine-resistant. According to health officials in the Long Island town, almost two dozen individuals are believed to have contracted the virus, with four confirmed cases and at least 14 suspected ones.

All of the cases involve people in their 20s, and the outbreak is being attributed to a new vaccine-resistant strain of the virus. In fact, most of those who have contracted mumps in this case have been vaccinated against it. Despite this, officials are actually urging people who have been in contact with those who are infected to get a mumps booster shot! If this strain of the virus is vaccine-resistant, and those who have been vaccinated are getting it anyway, why should people get yet another vaccine?

It’s also worth noting that none of the people currently affected are seriously ill. The symptoms of mumps tend to be mild, and include swollen cheeks, a headache, body aches and low-grade fever. There is no treatment, and it usually clears up on its own in just a few days.

Mumps is, however, highly contagious. It can be transmitted through the transfer of saliva, sneezing or coughing. As beach season continues in full swing, some Long Beach restaurants are even supplying diners with plastic cups as a means of stemming the outbreak. People who have symptoms of the illness are being advised to stay home for five days to avoid spreading it.

Controversy over mumps component of MMR vaccine

As some Natural News readers may recall, two Merck scientists filed a False Claims Act complaint back in 2010 saying that the Big Pharma firm knowingly falsified mumps vaccine data in order to come up with an efficacy rate of 95 percent. They achieved this by spiking the blood test involved with antibodies taken from animals.

This not only allowed them to earn hundreds of millions of dollars from the U.S. government, but also helped them crush the competition and monopolize the vaccine market.

The complainants said that Merck never tested the vaccine against actual mumps viruses out in the real world, and alleged that senior management was aware of this and allowed it to happen. That’s why it’s so important to seek out studies that are free from industry collusion.

American hostage Saeed Abidini says his plane was “not allowed to leave” until Obama’s $400M cash plane landed in Iran

The most troubling aspect of the $400 million cash payment to Iran, is not the fact that the payment was made in cash. This can surely be explained by the US’s lack of a banking relationship with the heavily sanctioned Iran.

Nor was it the fact that the payment was not reported to the US public. The White House can say it had no reason to report, what it claims was a small part of a larger (Iran-Nuclear weapons) settlement deal…that had already been made public months ago.

What snags Obama, in what the president himself claims is “spy novel” stuff, comes down to simple timing and sequence of events.

To recap…on January 17, 2016, a cargo plane with $400 million in foreign currencies (Euros and Swiss Francs) was sent to Iran in the cover of the night.

The very same day the Iranian government released four American hostages held in Tehran.

One of the US Iranian hostage Saeed Abidini, spoke to FOX Business, and explained that the Iran government did not let his plane leave Tehran until the Obama ‘ransom plane’ arrived.
